There are so many things terrible (and terribly interesting) in this piece that I don’t know quite where to begin. The author talks a lot about the work environment at Bridgewater Associates - the “richest and strangest hedge fund” in America. Some refer to it as a cult. Others - namely Dalio, the CEO - see it as brilliantly simple and efficient.
I read this stuff and can’t help but think that the chances of me working at or being at all connected to a hedge fund like Bridgewater Associates are about 10 billion times less likely than me becoming the first woman President.. which begs the question why I wasted 30 minutes of my day reading this nonsense.
There’s an America out there that is very foreign to me.
Nevertheless, the Dalio guy will stay on my radar. He seems to be right about everything.
